October 2009 (2nd) Newsletter 

Next Auxiliary meeting: Sunday, October 25th at 2:00pm 

The Whitewater Valley Detachment hosted the Department of Indiana Marine Corps 
League Fall Conference at the Holiday Inn in Richmond on Saturday, October 10th and 
Sunday, October 11th. Thanks to all our Auxiliary members who provided the food for 
the Hospitality Room! We offered an impressive variety and received numerous 
compliments for our efforts. 

The Auxiliary meeting was called to order by Department President, Pat 
Smith. The Pledge of Allegiance and opening and closing prayers were led 
by Department Chaplain, Margaret Fultz. The previous meeting minutes 
were read by Department Secretary, Paula Landers. The treasurer’s 
report was delivered by Department Treasurer, Virginia Hanson. 
Department President, Pat Smith, presented certificates awarded to the 
Department of Indiana by the National Marine Corps League Auxiliary 
during the National Convention in Rochester, Minnesota. During the 
meeting, we discussed member education and communication. Pat Smith 
is planning educational roundtable meetings at the Spring Conference. 
Paula Landers has set up a Department of Indiana Marine Corps League 
Auxiliary Group on Facebook. LOG ON AND JOIN! 

The Department of Indiana Marine Corps League 
Spring Conference will be hosted by the Tripoli 
Detachment on Saturday, March 6th and Sunday, 
March 7th at the Comfort Suites, 1345 North 
Baldwin Avenue in Marion, Indiana. 

2010 Marine Corps League National Convention 

The Marine Corps League 87th National Convention will be held at The Sheraton 
Greensboro Hotel / Koury Convention Center from Sunday, August 8th to Saturday, 
August 14th. Located in Greensboro, North Carolina this will be the first National 
Convention to be held in the State of North Carolina which is home to the largest 
population of Marines and Marine Corps Veterans in the United States.
